"Just put down the fork!"

Alrightyyyy so! Today is Friday and that means weigh-in day. I was more nervous this week than usual because I only did two runs and also because if I didn't lose weight, the whole world would know. Buuut... I lost another pound! Stepped on the scale this morning and I came in at 152.4! I can't wait to be in the 140's!!! That will be crazy! I'm probably 2 weeks away! I've included a couple progress pics down at the bottom :)

I made it through my sister Anita's bday party last night without eating cake and only eating one piece of pizza. It was Costco Combo and one slice is a whopping 510 calories! It took everything in me not to go crazy and eat 6 slices. I'm not even kidding or exaggerating. Had to tell myself this won't be the last time I get pizza or cake. Do I want that short term pleasure from the taste of food, or the long term happiness and satisfaction of being healthy and fit? Its all about choices. What do I chose to have happen in my life? My weight is no one's fault but my own. I am the one who puts the food in my mouth, chews it, swallows it... and I am the one who has to chose to just put down the fork!

Something I wanna talk about is a "cheat meal". I've been allowing myself a cheat meal every Friday because I read that doing so may help prevent weight loss plateaus. But I'm thinking I should not do that this week and see what kind of numbers I put up next week. Because while I'm thrilled to be another pound closer to my goal, I need to be losing over a pound per week if I want to hit my goal of 135 by christmas eve.
And I gotta run more.

An app I wanna talk about is GymPact. Basically, you make a pact and say "I want to work out ______ times per week (1-7 times)" and if you meet your pact, they pay you usually between 30 and 40 cents per workout (the longer you workout, the more you make). It might seem like nothing but after about 40 workouts logged with them, I have earned almost $20! So what happens if you DON'T meet your pact? Well when you set up the app, they ask how much money will it take to motivate you? You can chose between $5 and $50 as how much they will charge you PER WORKOUT missed. Yep, you can make real money and get charged real money. Its setup through paypal. Some people might not wanna risk it but let me tell you... it works. I haven't missed any workouts! You can either check in to your gym for a minimum of 30 minutes, or run or walk outdoors with RunKeeper which will sync your workout to GymPact. I almost always run. But since I've started losing weight I've had a number of bumps in the road that prevented me from running. I had a bad chest cold, then a sinus infection, then I got stung by a honeybee on the arch of my right foot. As the swelling went down the itching set in and Lord Almighty, that was torcherouse. Anywho, GymPact has features that allow you to take breaks, or freeze your account in case of health issues preventing you from working out. I didn't utilize them though, I just went for walks instead. As long as you move faster than 2 mph and go for at least 30 mins (which is totally do-able!), it will count as a workout.
I should get paid for talking about these apps haha

Anyways so that's pretty much it for this week. Hopefully I'll run today. My best time for 5k is 34:36. I reallyyyy wanna break 30 mins within the next few months. I need new running shoes so badly. I've been battling arch blisters and mild shin splints for weeks now. I run in Asics. I LOVE them but when they get worn out, I get these bad symptoms.

Oh! I gotta give a big thanks to my Mom and my siblings Judah, Joseph, Bella, Tim, Julia and the other little helpers. They watch Hailie while I hit the road running. Without them, i wouldnt be where i am today. Thank you guys :)

Here's the progress pics :)
I had already lost some weight when the first ones were taken. I'm on the hunt for a good pic from when i was at my largest. First ones were taken at the end of July, "after" pics were taken today, end of September, so this is 2 months of progress.
Still a long way to go till I "get there" but I'm on my way. I could barely put the skirt on before and it sat up on my ribs. Now it is comfortably on my waist!
